Dig In

The bible says that when you put your hand to the plow, there is no turning back or around. At that point you are at the crossroads of salvation and there is no vacillation. The jig is up as they say; you must dig in for your belief in Christ. Your faith is displayed like a new pair of shoes, all glistening and shiny ready for wear.

Digging in is taking a stand in Christ and allowing nothing to rattle the foundation. The word compromise is foreign to any acceptance or welcome. We must stand firm in our convictions and beliefs in Christ and not allow the world to tamper our choices with rejection. As we root our self in Jesus we will not be torn loose by the storms of life and persistent persecution of Satan.

We are assured of our entrance into the Kingdom, so we serve God in obedience and without resistance. His will for our life becomes rudimentary and primary to our survival. We eat, sleep, walk and talk Jesus twenty-four seven, with him constantly on our mind. There is nothing else left in this world that is as satisfying and rich.

Once Jesus lives within us, our lust for sin diminishes and the flesh becomes crucified. At some point we become absent in the body and present with the Lord, before we pass away out of this world. This is the wall that we run up against in our quest or journey for the Lord. With our track shoes on we dig in to get a sure footing, because nothing will prevent us from scaling the heights. As we soar higher and higher our body becomes detached from our soul and will not allow the carnality of sin to enter in and sway our choices. Everything, including spouses, children, family and friends is on the line because we are dedicated to Jesus. He is our treasure stored in heaven, awaiting our arrival.

There is a feast dedicated upon our arrival, welcoming fellow brethren to the table that is set by our Lord. The fast will be over and no more sorrow or tears will be shed. Jesus will be our sustainer of all sorrow and misery. Our course is directed by his compassion and mercy, and we must dig in as he has to return to the Father through our faith.
