When we make God happy, He bestows His blessings on us by granting us more success then we could ever imagine.
From the beginning of time, man has been given the power of choice and by doing so, man would sin. God knew this and is still willing to bless us despite all of our sins. If He is to give to us His blessings, we must do our best by living in the CORE. Living in the CORE does not mean we live a life of absolute purity and no sin. It is impossible to live that way and that is why He sacrificed His only Son for our sins. This does not however grant us the right to live in the Land of ING doing whatever we like. We must remember that there will be a day of judgment and we can have no secrets from God. In Ecclesiastes 12 verses13-14 it says,
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
By living in the land of ING, we are blatantly defying what God has asked us to do, which is to make Him happy. So how do we make Him happy? By living in the CORE and following the commandments set forth to us! These commandments were giving to man by God through Moses and most everybody has heard of them, but do we really know what they say?
- Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
- Thou shalt not make thee any graven images.
- Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
- Keep the Sabbath day to sanctify it holy.
- Honor thy father and thy mother.
- Thou shalt not kill.
- Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
- Neither shalt thou steal.
- Neither shall thou bear false witness against thy neighbor.
- Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor’s wife keeping your integrity by doing the right things.
Jesus was even asked which commandment was the most important. In Mathew 22 verses 36-40, Jesus says,
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
These commandments have seemingly disappeared due to the fact that they may feel more like a burden or a chore rather then a way of life. It is much easier to just live in the Land of ING, takING what we think we deserve and expectING that by doing so will result in success. These commandments have remained unchanged for thousands of years, clearly written down for anyone to make the choice. Do I follow them or not?
It may sound so simple to make the choice and live in the CORE; however we can not just move into the CORE overnight. It is a gradual growth process that takes time. For some, they will never even see the CORE. For others, they will get a chance to start moving towards living in the CORE when God shows them a sign. The signs are everywhere; someone drops a $20 bill, do you return it or put it in your pocket? Reading this article and either listening or ignoring the message. Your boss wants to give you a promotion because of some great work your co-worker did. Do you greedily take the promotion or give the credit to your co-worker even if it means losing the promotion. These are all just choices but important ones if we want to start living in the CORE.
Choice, what a simple thing that has such profound actions tied to it. Are you one of the people who have been making poor choices and taking the wrong paths? If so, it is not too late. God wants you to turn down the path that will lead you away from the Land of ING and enter into the CORE. The choice is yours, what will it be.
