Procrastination

Putting something or someone off until a later time is the death of life, as we know it. At some point it kills every good thing that was trying to be accomplished. We make up every excuse in the world for not doing something and for not taking care of business. It is only due to one thing… our slothfulness. We have become a people and nation of pure laziness. If you look up the word procrastination in the dictionary it should say see Americans. This country was never founded or built upon procrastination. There was a time when it was unacceptable. We were a people of our word and prided ourselves in it.

Over the years the world does not trust nor believe a thing we say. We don’t even believe each other anymore. Our promise

is worthless. It all stems from procrastination. We teach and rear our children in it. This is where it starts and where we begin to make the correction. When someone says they will do a certain thing and then they never do it, it creates an unfulfilled expectation and disappointment until it is done, and then it is followed with resentment because it took so long.

When a person procrastinates it should be pointed out to them again and again, but never ignored. Procrastination belongs in the cesspool of hell where it came from. Satan’s world is chaotic and unruly, just the opposite of what God created with perfection. The devil introduced procrastination in the Garden of Eden and we have been dealing with it every since.

Imagine if God put off our salvation until he could get around to it, and he had the attitude that it may or may not ever happen. We are the same way with accepting him, because we may or may not ever get around to it. The only difference is that our eternity lies at the doorsteps of hell and God’s does not. We must accept Jesus while the opportunity is fresh and never procrastinate a second when the Holy Ghost convicts our hearts to do so. Even if we procrastinate one day, it could make all the difference in the world if Christ returns today. There won’t be any procrastination in the eternal fires of hell, because every day the suffering and torment and persecution will be current and without end.
