Is Your nose in My business?

My grandfather use to say the reason God put a nose on the end of his face is so that he would keep it out of someone else’s business. The reverse of this is true as well, and he would be the first to tell you about it. This truth arises from the bible in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 which states, And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you.

We must only wag our tongues with something positive to

say, especially in this day and age where gossip and bearing false witness is king of our conversation. We do not love our brother if we are backstabbing him at the

same time. What is in man that he wants to not only know another’s business, but also wants to broadcast it to the closest ear that will listen?

This deceit and dishonesty is in such a decayed state in man’s blackened heart that it has become second nature, where little thought is given to the deed or content of his lips. The information and lies come forth as easily as breathing the air. A handshake or being a man of your word ranks lest in the world of no integrity, for none is present in the prison of corruption and emptiness.

Man has an opinion about what time it is, and most particular what time it should be; regardless of the big picture of where the sun actually hits the dial. God has only convinced a few that someday time will end and so will his offer of salvation. Man cannot live without God. God can certainly live without man, and does. Thank God that he puts his nose in our business, and we have no right demanding that he take it out. Who do we think we are?

If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! But now they are hid from thine eyes.

For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side.

And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. And Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought. Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
