No Fault Insurance

Pontus Pilate stated many times that he found no fault in Jesus. He personally believed that he was King of the Jews and the Son of God. Pilate’s wife had a dream that he was not to be affiliated with the condemnation of Jesus. Pilate reasoned with the High Priest representing the Jews to release Jesus because of his innocence. However, it was not meant to be because prophesy had to be fulfilled concerning the crucifixion and death of Jesus.

Pilate sought a way out when he found a Jewish custom to release one at the Passover. He asked that it be Jesus. The crowd cried out for Barabbas’ freedom, instead of Jesus. Barabbas was known as a robber. Christ would ultimately be crucified between two thieves, whereby one would accept him and one would not. The name Barabbas means Son of the Father. Barabbas’ first name was Jesus. His entire name literally means Jesus, Son of the Father. God even had a message there for us to see.

No fault insurance means accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior. It is recognizing him as the Son of God and laying claim to his atonement for your sin to be saved from the eternal fires of hell. Pontus Pilate recognized the innocence of the Lamb that was to be slaughtered and wanted no part of it. He washed his hands and released his involvement as he did so. He was forced to execute the situation because of being a Roman and his allegiance to Caesar, which the Jews reminded him of.

God made a provision for his glorification and to prove the innocence of Jesus. He was the sinless offering being made for the redemption of mankind and doing the will of his Father in heaven. Just as the will and heart of the Pharaoh was set by God, so to was the will and heart of the Jews hardened against Jesus so that prophesy could be fulfilled.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
