The Menorah

The menorah is a gold crafted candelabrum symbolic of being united in Jesus Christ and used as a Jewish custom by the High Priest. The center stem (Jesus) is filled with oil and feeds the interconnecting branches (believers) as it is lit on fire to burn in reverence to God. Its seven branches represent perfection and completion and the seven spirits of God. The menorah was activated to burn by the High Priest prior to entering the Holy of Holies as part of the holy offering and ceremony unto God for the atonement of sin. Inside the holy chamber of the temple, God’s glory sat upon the mercy seat above the Arc of the Covenant between the two Cherubim figures, where the High Priest came to worship and present his offering. The menorah is a sacred symbol of lighting the way not only to see God, but also to shine a light on our own sin in doing so.
