On one hand it was to confuse the devil, because he thought the Son of God would surely come through the priesthood or Levitical line. On the other hand, it was really camouflaged to not only fool the devil, but to make each and every one of us sinners feel comfortable and welcome like family because of our sin nature. God is a hands-on participant and did not want to place himself on a pedestal for worship, instead humbling himself in meekness and humility born in a manger with no special arrangements or provisions.
While on this earth we are born out of whoredom and sin becomes our struggle. Once we are glorified with Jesus, heaven and perfection becomes our domain. Death is conquered and Satan becomes chained in the lake of fire and is no longer a threat.
Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice, giving of himself in time and body for our understanding and edification. God temporarily removed himself from his holiness and royalty to manifest himself in the flesh for the redemption of our souls. He lowered himself through whoredom for our behalf, where the struggle has been to not only understand but to receive the gift of grace from the creator of the universe and everything beyond.
Because God is a loving God, he can only give of himself. He offers his purity and truth for our consumption, but never forces or tricks us. The gift of freewill gives us the responsibility for our choices. Do we want to remain in whoredom, or walk in the clearness of his holiness? |
