In Love With The Lord
A Prayer for Providential Goodness
Whence that low voice? A whisper from the heart that told of days long past, when I roved with you my clear and kindred tenderly beloved; you who had early mandates to depart yet are allowed to steal my path athwart, by heaven's grace. Once more do we unite, once more beneath the kind earth's tranquil light, and smothered joys into new being start. From my unworthy seat of time breaks forth triumphant memory, on gales that breathe too gently to recall… of echo doth reverberate some sweet sound; the start treasure of our love so profound, I long to ravish free as air, with flying inquest viewed pure as the morning. You taught me random cares and truant joys that shield from mischief and preserve from stains, soul smitten of providential goodness ever night.
