In Love With The Lord

A Prayer for a Parable

Time to rejoice as the truth from our Lord unfolds. Reflections from a window display our life as two pine trees sway in the wind, but never touch. Nestled at their bases are needles of a lifetime, and only one can tell from which they came. The squirrel making his way heavenward knows the difference in the climb, as he glides from one tree to the other, taking the limbs as necessity and not defeat, but a slave to the dangling pine nut atop. With limited intelligence gravity is challenged, and inches from success the squirrel watches as the nut passes before him. Looking back gives the squirrel the value of the climb, because it has afforded him the opportunity to look at the situation from another viewpoint. If only the squirrel would have waited at the bottom of the tree, the nut would have come to him. Where would the challenge lie?
